I have spent the past 20 years working as a bookkeeper and enjoy the work tremendously. I have always felt that I should do some formal training and in 2000 did commence a diploma, the timing was not right after getting half way through the course I had to set my studies aside and focus on family and work commitments.

After waiting so long to get back to Accounting and bookkeeping training it was to my delight to find that training has become so much easier and accessible. Instead of being tied to class schedules and keeping pace with the learners who were new to the topics I could roll along at my own pace, in my own time and spend as much time as I had available e that week completing units.

Online training seems to suite me very well; I love the practicality of submitting everything online, and the fast turnaround on feedback. This type of training suits my learning style, I can move through the units, working on more than one at a time to maintain my interest and allow concepts and solutions to form without having to stop and wait for this to happen.

I know the certainty that comes with having a formal qualification will attribute to my feelings of professionalism in my roll as bookkeeper in the future and would like to thank Oliver for his support whilst completing the course.

Areas covered in the course were broad and relevant to the modern workforce, covering all the work areas I take care of in an informal way and giving me structure and reference materials and access to resources to support me in my role. I enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend it to others.

#2 - Simple, Plain-English Resources

GST, BAS, PAYG… confused? It can be daunting to get your head around some of the technical language that you’re required to understand in accounting and bookkeeping qualifications. Many of the commercial learning resources used by providers are unnecessarily wordy and hard-to-understand. At Livingston Institute we only use learning resources that are written in plain English so you can understand more and achieve your qualification faster.

I have to say, after completing this course, I was very impressed with the level of depth and the quality of resources, materials and assessments supplied with this certificate. You take accounting and bookkeeping seriously! This course provided me with knowledge and a level of service that I wasn’t expecting.

#3 - Quality Learning Resources

It can be a challenge to get through all the policies, frameworks, and legislation that needs to be covered in Accounting and Bookkeeping qualifications. Most providers give you 200-300 pages of materials that are hard enough to read, far less properly understand.

What I like about having access to a range of different learning resources is the repetition. I love the fact that I don’t have to carry heavy manuals around with me while I’m completing the my qualification. I just log-on to the online learning area and I can access everything I need – wherever I am.
